It's pretty warm all year round in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has two seasons: a rainy/green season and a dry season. In general, the rainy season runs from May to the end of November, and the dry season runs from December to April. No matter the season travel to Costa Rica will be an amazing vacation.
Costa Rica uses the colones as its currency, but US dollars are widely accepted. As of the time of writing this post, 500 colones is approxiamte to $1 USD. You'll find Costa Rica's prices are similar to the US. This can be useful when planning to travel to Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is known for its naturistic activities and adrenaline pumping excursions. Whether you're into man-made trails or death-defying adventure, there's something for everyone. You'll have the chance to zip line, raft, ride horses, hike waterfalls, ride ATVs, and explore natural parks. You'll have nonstop fun whether you're traveling with your family or doing a bit of solo traveling.
Costa Rica is a very versatile place to travel. It' easy and cheap to get around with public transportation. Taking the bus from one town to another will cost you $5 - $10 USD, but you can travel locally for $1 USD.
Even though renting a car isn't cheap, it's cheaper than taking a shuttle or hiring a driver. If you're planning on exploring multiple parts of the country and public transportation isn't your thing, I'd definitely look into this.
As a solo traveler, taking a shuttle can be affordable. You can take a shuttle from any major town to a neighboring town. It's pretty common for solo travelers.
Private shuttles can be affordable for groups. Many groups hire large SUVs, vans and small buses to take them from city to city.
Uber and Didi are the most common public transportation apps. Taxis are also available, but meter fares can be unpredictable.
Costa Rica has plenty of places to stay for every budget.
Hostels are very affordable and offer dorm-style rooms and private rooms. Some have shared bathrooms, some have private bathrooms. These are awesome for solo travelers, those who plan to backpack Costa Rica or people who like to meet other travelers.
Hotel prices will range from cheap to luxurious. The price will depend on the location and amenities. Some hotels cater to families while others will be adult only.
There are also resorts and condos all over Costa Rica. Most of these are for adults, but some are family-friendly.
