Thailand is located in the heart of southeast Asia.  The capital of Thailand is Bangkok and the official language is Thai (although English is widely spoken throught the country).  The local currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht.

The weather in Thailand is usually warm all year round. It is best to travel to Thailand during the months of November - April, when it is considered the dry season and the weather is most pleasant. Typically, rainy season begins in June, followed by monsoon season from August to October. Nevertheless, keep in mind that this is just a general assessment of the country in general. Thai regions have their own seasons that can be completely opposite from this.

While on vacation in Thailand, you will find that local transportation is extremely affordable. Although Uber isn't available in Thailand, Bolt and Grab are popular rideshare services. There are also taxis and tuk-tuks in Thailand, but be sure to negotiate before you get in. 

If you want to travel to multiple cities throughout Thailand, domestic flights seem to be very affordable if booked in advance. If you will only be in Thailand for a few weeks or less, this would be the best option for you. If you have more time to spend in Thailand, the night bus can be even more affordable but of course it will take over half a day or more to reach your destination and may require a ferry and local transportation.

Food is an essential part of any travel experience. Thai food is heavily influenced by Indian and Chinese cultures. Thailand has some of the best gastronomical dishes in the world and uses a variety of spices. A good way to enjoy and learn about Thai food is by taking a cooking class. You will get a chance to try a variety of Thai dishes and even take home some recipes to try at home.

Asian elephants are native to Thailand. In Thailand, tourism has led to a lot of mistreatment of elephants. If you are interested in seeing these elephants during your vacation in Thailand, it is best to see them in their natural habitat in the wild. When you can't do this, an elephant sanctuary is a good alternative. These sanctuaries put the needs of the elephants first and still allow them the freedom of being elephants. You can find many sanctuaries throughout Thailand.

 Many people travel to Thailand for a relaxing vacation. There's no better way to do this than with a private villa. There are villas all over Thailand.
